The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) has recently been presented with the Elite Partnership Award 2022 – Community Partners by the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS). The presentation ceremony was held on 27 June.

The Award, organised since 2021, aims to recognise the communities with enthusiastic support and remarkable achievements for blood donation. The numbers of blood donors and mobile donation events hosted are the key parameters for assessment.

The HA has supported the BTS for hosting annual blood donation events, each lasting for several days, since 2003. A total of 255 colleagues participated and 218 bags of blood were collected from the blood donation events held at the HA Headquarters in 2021. Free venues were also offered at two HA’s shopping centres, namely Domain and Shui Chuen O Plaza, facilitating blood donation by a total of 761 members of the general public during the year.
