The Ombudsman’s Award Received

Subsequent to The Ombudsman’s Award for Public Organisations (Mediation) presented by the Office of The Ombudsman (the Office) in 2018, the Housing Department (HD) has once again received The Ombudsman’s Awards (Public Organisations) this year, in recognition of its efforts and excellent performance in handling complaints.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Director of Housing, Miss Agnes Wong, stated that the HD attached great importance to each complaint. We have strictly abided by the principles of fairness and impartiality, and cooperated with the Office in a positive and proactive manner. She encouraged colleagues to think from the perspective of the public by listening to their views and responding to their needs. She thanked colleagues for adopting an earnest approach in handling complaints. She also extended her gratitude to the Office for offering valuable recommendations, which facilitated the HD to further enhance its quality of services.

Adopting a people-oriented service approach, the HD was commended by The Ombudsman for its cautious attitude and appropriate assistance for those people in need and the elderly. Mediation has been effectively applied to resolve complaints.
